Questions about a pattern, a stitch count that will not behave, or a project you want to see written up next.

Every written pattern here starts as a note from a knitter or crocheter. Send yours and it may well become the next tutorial.

Questions about a pattern, a stitch that will not behave, or an idea you would like to see written up.

Every written pattern here has been knit or crocheted through at least twice, and notes from readers are how the tricky rows get clearer. Tell me which project you are working on, the yarn and hook or needle size you are using, and where in the instructions things went sideways. Gauge swatch photos help more than you might think.

Pattern suggestions are always welcome too. If there is a technique you want broken down slowly, say so — requests shape what gets filmed and written next.

What helps me answer faster

  • The pattern name and the row or round number you are stuck on.
  • Your yarn weight, fiber and the hook or needle size in use.
  • Your gauge over four inches, measured after blocking if you can.
  • Whether you are following the written instructions, the video tutorial, or both.

Replies go out in the order they arrive, and pattern corrections are folded back into the written page so the next maker never hits the same snag.
